Nigerian Gay pastor dares Senate and recruits more members.

Rev Rowland Olajide Macaulay is a gay pastor who used to run a gay church in Nigeria called House of Rainbow, located at No 36/38 Yakoyo street, Ojodu Berger, Lagos. I say used to run, because after a newspaper exposed the activities of his church, he packed up and relocated to London where he is still running his gay church. He appeared some time ago on CNN, where he proudly talked about his church of gays.

Rev Macaulay is in the news again because he's speaking out against the anti-gay bill which was passed in the senate recently. Continue to read a Vanguard Report on it...

Culled from Vanguard...

In 2008, Saturday Vanguard reported a story about a gay Reverend Rowland who was running a church secretly in Nigeria. The Church called House of Rainbow was situated at No 36/38 Yakoyo street, Ojodu Berger, Lagos. Reverend Roland some time ago reportedly appeared on Cable Network News, CNN, where he proudly talked about his church of gays.
The initial reaction about his exposure was that such a church could not exist within Nigeria as such things are common outside the country.

But an uproar in the Anglican communion in Europe on gay bishops brought up the case of Reverend Rowland, a Nigerian, and was residing in Lagos. He was also operating his gay church in Lagos.
In his plot 145 flat 1, Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos, where Rev. Rowland Olajide Macaulay, the gay pastor lived, the apartment was locked. It was learnt that the Reverend had left his house on Saturday, September 13, immediately after a national newspaper carried the story of his homosexual church.
According to the neighbours, the Sunday service was unable to hold both at the Jakande Estate branch and the Ojodu headquarters of House of Rainbow Ministries after that publication.

Right now, Rev. Rowland has relocated abroad where he is presently running his gay church,”House Of Rainbow Fellowship”.

According to him, “ My Church is a voice of the younger generation of citizens, activists, and diaspora, and our collective belief in a more progressive Nigeria. They are afraid of our growing influence as we gather allies not just from the West, a people that are not afraid but powerful and resilient.
“Right now, they are spreading their tentacles to every village, town and city around the world”. The Church is also calling on faithful and dedicated local leaders who believe in homosexuality and lesbianism. Ten House Of Rainbow Fellowship local leaders are in Ghana, Nigeria, UK, Burundi, and Lesotho.

According to the gay pastor,  “any negative effect on the anti-gay bill will have detrimental effect on the work and mission of House Of Rainbow in Nigeria. The lives of LGBTI people and their friends, families and allies will be further frustrated with fear and prejudice. We need to pray and stand up against injustice”.

Nigeria is kicking against the practice of same sex marriage where homosexuality is punishable by up to 14 years in prison, so it might be a terrible time for both gay and religious leaders who are in support of this practice.

Meanwhile, Rev Rowland Jide Macaulay, the gay minister who founded the church, is leading a comeback even though he remains in self-imposed exile in London.

”Religion is a backbone to life in Nigeria, so we all want to go to church,” he said. “But we don’t want to lie to God about who we are.”

Macaulay first set up House of Rainbow in 2006, where he openly held Sunday services in a Lagos hotel hall decorated in rainbow colours. A public backlash culminated in members being beaten as they left the church. Macaulay fled to the UK after receiving death threats.

This year, he has recruited a small team that includes his local leaders in Lagos in his voluntary role.
The project could even spread beyond the borders of Africa’s most populous country. Macaulay has recently recruited a local leader in Accra, the capital of nearby Ghana. He is considering applications from Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Pentecostal pastors often see gay desire as the work of demons. “You might start casually but, once you get into it, you will be possessed by the spirit,” said Emmanuel Owoyemi, a pastor in Lagos.
Meanwhile, in the 12 sharia states in the North, gay sex carries the death penalty, although no executions have yet taken place.

A national anti-gay marriage bill, which pushes for jail sentences for anyone who even assists gay marriage, has been before Nigeria’s parliament since 2009 and was passed recently prohibiting the practice. Macaulay, however, is not taking any chances this time.
Prayer sessions are being held in secret locations. No unknown newcomers are being admitted. He continues to preach via YouTube from London – he thinks it would be unwise to return home. “We have learnt our lesson,” he said. “It is a hostile situation.”

Being gay is regarded as an offence across much of Africa.

Apart from being on the wrong side of the law, many homosexual Nigerians say exclusion from church is one of the hardest parts of being gay. ”We are brought up to believe that you should belong to a religion. We feel that, if we don’t go to church, God will not answer our prayers,” says a young gay man in Abuja, .

TUFACE SAVES POLICE MAN SHOT BY ARMED ROBBERS.

The story I heard was that the singer and a friend were returning from a night club in the early hours of Sun Nov 20th, when they spotted a man lying by the roadside, writhing in pain. Tuface asked that they come out of their car to see what was wrong the man. He was a police man who had been shot a few times by armed robbers just a few minutes before Tuface's vehicle drove through.

So him and his friend took the injured police man to a hospital in VI, where he was treated after Tuface stood as his guarantor. The police man was later moved to another hospital after his people came.

You did great, Tuface. Welldone. And this is a big deal, because coming down of your vehicle at 3am in the morning in Lagos is an extremely risky thing to do. It might have been a set up, or maybe the robbers were still around, you know, stuff like that. So, Tuface and his friend deserve praise for saving this man's lives. They are heroes!

Tuface you are the man!

Nigerian government to enpower youths.

The Federal Government entrepreneurship and jobs creation initiative Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria, popularly known as YouWiN! has extended the age limit for candidates to age 40. The reason, according to Dr. Olasupo Olusi, Special Assistant to the Coordinating Minister of the Economy & YouWiN! Project Coordinator, is so that more young Nigerians can have the benefit of showcasing their business acumen at the business competition and thereby access the funds that would help take their businesses higher.

According to Dr. Olusi, the YouWin! Secretariat has been besieged by calls and emails since the inception of the competition from young Nigerians who couldn’t make the initially advertised cut of age 35. ‘So seeing as we actually have more “on-the-ground” business men in that age bracket’, he explained, ‘the government has decided to lift the bar to allow the entry of 40 year olds and under’.

Elaborating further, he said ‘Government believes that the wealth of experience that the under 40s have will help make the competition even keener’. He was quick to stress, however that age would not be a factor in deciding who gets the prizes eventually. ‘This is a competition of ideas. Our job is to see that at the end of the day, the best and most innovative ideas come tops, and for us to help support those ideas and their backers so that they can make good success in Nigeria’s business terrain’.

The elated Project Coordinator revealed that going by the submissions that have come in so far, it is obvious that Nigeria is brimming with business talents who, if encouraged and given adequate support can help propel Nigeria’s economy to much greater heights through value creation and the opening of opportunities to other young Nigerians.

D'banj and Buari in hot romance?

From Stella Dimoko Korkus' page in Encomium magazine:
The crooner is currently in a hush hush romance with Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari. The actress was spotted a fortnight ago, precisely on Friday and Saturday,October 14th and 15th 2011 at the crooner’s house where she spent the weekend and paraded herself in a sexy night attire.
Other sources also confirm that the two have been an item long before now and have been spotted many times together in Ghana as well.
I know for sure Nadia dated Republic of Congo musician, Fally Ipupa...this one I'm not 100% sure...though I heard from a very reliable source that it's true.

Two News editors of the Nation Newspaper were arrested yesterday..

Two News editors of the nation Newspaper were arrested yesterday at the Matori Office. It is believed to be connected with the Oct 4th Story titled, "Obasanjo's Secret letter".

.... Where is the Freedom of speech?
 FULL STORY..
FOUR senior editors with the Vintage Press Limited, publishers of The Nation were on Tuesday arrested by security operatives from the Force CID, Alagbon, Lagos.
Nine detectives, led by Mr. Emma Ogolo came in two vehicles (a white-colour Rover Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), marked PFN 357 B and a blue-colour Peugeot 504 Salon car, marked 2413 B).
A statement by the General Editor, Mr. Kunle Fagbemi said, “The Nigeria Police Force, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit” was inscribed on the sides of the SUV.
Three of the detectives entered the premises of the company on 27B, Fatai Atere Way, Matori, Mushin, while the two vehicles parked outside the gate had three men waiting in them.
In each of the waiting vehicles were; an armed policeman, a plain cloth security operative and the driver.
They asked to see the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Victor Ifijeh and the Editor, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso. They were not in the office when the officers called at about 2pm.
The Deputy Editor, Mr. Lawal Ogienagbon, who attended to them, was arrested alongside the News Editor of the newspaper’s weekend titles, Mr. Dapo Olufade. Ogienagbon has been flown to Abuja.
The Managing Editor in charge of Northern Operations, Yusuf Alli, and the Bureau Chief, Mr. Yomi Odunuga, had earlier been picked up at the Abuja office of the newspaper and are being detained at the Force Headquarters.
Olufade was taken after the officers could not find any of the other four senior editors they were looking for, among whom were: the General Editor, Mr. Kunle Fagbemi, Managing Editor, Waheed Odusile, the Deputy Editor, News, Mr. Adesina Adeniyi, and Group Political Editor, Bolade Omonijo.
The company’s lawyer, Mr. John Unachukwu, the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Mr. Jide Adegbenjo and the Labour Correspondent, Mrs. Dupe Olaoye Oshinkolu also went with them. By press time, Olufade and Oshinkolu were still being detained in Lagos.
The police invasion, apparently meant to decapitate the paper’s leadership and disrupt production of the Wednesday edition, paralysed work at the newspaper house for many hours and unsettled staff.
Though the team did not disclose the contents of their Warrant, it is believed that it was not unconnected with the October 4 cover story of The Nation, entitled “Obasanjo’s ‘secret’ letter to Jonathan stirs anger. Ex-President seeks sack of PTDF chief, four others.”
The former President had in a chat with aviation reporters the following day, denied the authorship of such letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, threatening legal action against the newspaper. But The Nation stood by its story.

DBANJ AND DON JAZZY WERE NEVER ARRESTED!

Recently there were rumours making the rounds via internet and Black berry phones that our very own musician and producers who have made this great country proud, home and abroad were arrested by the FBI in New york for allegedly possessing over 1,000 KG of hard drugs.
Below is a statement from their publicist:

We find it really mischievous and wicked for somebody to sit in the comfort of his home and send out messages capable of damaging the lives of his fellow human being.”
This statement above formed part of the statement by multi award hip hop artistes and producer, Dapo Oyebanjo popularly called D’banj and Don Jazzy, C.E.O of Mo’Hits Records’ media company, Media Image Managers.
Late Sunday night through Monday, Internet and Blackberry broadcast messages were flying around which said the duo were ‘arrested’ in the US with 1,000 kilograms of substance suspected to be hard drugs and they have been detained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.

The stars’ publicist in the statement described the news as the handiwork of people who want to bring down any successful person. “It is this Shoot Him Down Syndrome (SHDS) that has pervaded the country for years now, and artistes as well as celebrities bear the brunt more. We want to state categorically that Dbanj and Don Jazzy are in Lagos. They are nowhere near New York or even Ghana.”
The statement continued: “The two respected artistes are proud Nigerians doing the country proud worldwide. They do not need to peddle drugs as they are successful young men who worked hard to get to where they are today. The report making the rounds that they were arrested in America on Sunday is false and an attempt to tarnish the image of these proudly Nigerian artistes. It’s a figment of someone's evil imagination. We at Media Image Managers are not losing sleep about this malicious campaign, but records must be set straight. D'banj and Don Jazzy are at their Lekki home in Lagos, Nigeria, they are well and okay. They have had no brush with the law for any reason, not even for a traffic offence. What makes it more funny is the fact that D’banj and Don Jazzy were having a routine meeting with many others including his media company representatives on Monday when obnoxious message dropped in many phones in the living room claiming the duo were in custody in America. Really sad.”
Since the popularity of Internet, people have literally gone gaga. Every average Nigerian is now a journalist as they struggle to outdo each other in broadcasting the news of the death of popular people as well as posting on their status on social networking site, Facebook. These news turn to be false most of the time. Nigerians have killed former Biafra war lord Chief Udumegwu Ojukwu and Freedom fighter, former South African President, Nelson Mandela several times before they will eventually die.
It was a  broadcast message that sparked off a widespread panic early this year. Some mischievous people started spreading the news that the Third Mainland Bridge was falling apart and people should avoid that route. Government of Lagos had to debunk that claim. So many incidents that have led to panic had been caused by this new generation Blackberry and Facebook ‘journalists’. Rumour peddlers have told the world that Charly Boy was ‘dead’ some couple of years ago. They ‘killed’ gospel musician and Evangelist Sonny Okosuns once before he eventually died. The most guilty of this crime are faceless individuals who run web sites. They have turned the Internet to blackmail tool used in running anybody who tries to stand up to them down.
“That is why we at Media Image Managers will want to use this opportunity to call on government to call Nigerians to order by way of enlightenment on the need to verify information before they spread it further. D’banj and Don Jazzy, two successful artistes are target today (so many people had been targets in the past), who knows the next target? These young men even when they were yet to break into limelight did not do any illegal thing, so it would be most sad now that almost a decade of hard work that has paid off would be rubbished by engaging in anything illegal.”
D’banj and Don Jazzy aside winning many awards were recently signed American superstar Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music

Please people if you do not have any meaningful thing doing please tarnishing people's image is not the next thing.
Why can't we be happy over other people's progress? Why?

Could this be a ploitical witch-hunt?

Yesterday the 21st of September the trial of former Governor of Lagos state and ACN national leader commenced. He was accompanied by some ACN governors and many followers amongst cheers and celeberation as his many follwers showed solidarity. He would be facing a 3-count charge which was dropped from 10 count. He would be facing the charges for operating foreign accounts when he was governor of Lagos state.

Mhhh...My question is who is behind this? Could this be a political witch hunting of this chilvary leader who has paved the way for a better life for Many Nigerians? He has lead a party that has shown the people what leadership is all about.Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also shown the people that it is possible to have a better life even at a time when some other leaders in power were busy looting the Nation's funds hence depriving the citizens of a better life. It's no news again that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is thorn in the flesh of most of the leaders in and out power. They are happy to have him in their grip and clutches at the moment. These leaders would stop at nothing to ruin this great man,Bola Ahmed Tinubu. There are many leaders and past governors out there who had nothing to show for the lenghty years they spent in office. The states which they governed,in the end put destinies in their hands by voting in leaders who belong to the party that this great man,Bola Ahmed Tinubu belongs to.
This trumped up charges should be dropped by whoever.
Yeah..I know I sound partial but lets face it,ACN has proved beyond doubt to be better than the PDP.

My ordeal at the hands of CBD officials - Lola Talabi Oni

                                                lola's car.

A reader of this blog wants to share a bitter experience with you all. Read below...

I’m sharing this hellish story, one to add my shout to stories of injustice and wanton immoral behavior of Lagos State Agents on our roads, and two, to ensure that ALL Lagos residents are treated with dignity and respect by officials who are paid with the enormous taxes that we as residents pay to the Lagos State Government.  On Thursday morning, around 11am, I stopped by a shop by the foot of the Apongbon bridge going into Marina to make a purchase. As I was putting my bags in the car, I see several Central Business District “agents” (what do we call them, agents, officials?) clamor about my car.  Their tow truck angling to clamp my car.

While still asking what was going on, one of the CBD men, jumps into my car and tells me to drive quickly if I don’t want them to clamp my car.  His name was Mutiu Balogun as I would later read on the tag of his shirt.  In the confusion, I get in the car and just start driving.  I ask him where exactly we were going and he responded, “Onikan swimming pool.” Still confused and shocked at what was happening, I asked this Mutiu exactly what I had done wrong and what the fees where.  Mutiu says he cannot tell me any offence and cannot tell me what the fines where.  At this point, quite frankly, I started to get really fearful and asked Mutiu if I could veer to the right and call my husband to come and meet me at the CBD “office” at Onikan Swimming Pool, Mutiu barks at me that I cannot call my husband.  I have no choice, and I’ve been told not to call anyone.  So I continue driving.

Since I live right by Onikan Swimming Pool, I proceeded to drive there using the route that I normally use and I’ve used for 3 years since living in Lagos Island – Marina, turning into Joseph Street, turning into Catholic Mission Street, turning into Military Road, then onto King George.  I’ve taken this route many times.  As I turn into Joseph Street, this Mutiu Balogun immediately starts agitating and asking why I’ve turned, saying that is not the way to swimming pool.  I started to explain to him that this is the way I know and since he didn’t give me any directions, I was just taking the way I knew.  Before I knew it, this man who is taller and obviously stronger than I am, raises his hands and strongly smacks me across my chest as he attempts to shove my hands from the steering wheel. How can a public officer put his hands on me for any reason?

The car is swerving at this point and of course a crowd had started to gather in front of Mr. Biggs on Joseph Street.  Mutiu then proceeds to use both of his hands to pull the hand breaks while the key was still in the ignition, and I was still driving.  He then starts yelling about how he’s going to show me a lesson and that by the time he is done with me, I would “pay more money than I’ve ever paid in my life”.  Through all this I was still traumatized, and the now sizeable crowd had started to beg said officer Balogun.  He stood by the driver door of my car, refusing me entry into my car and called his colleagues on the phone saying “the madam is proving difficult now, bring the towing truck.” I’m not sure how many minutes passed here, the towing truck arrives, clamps my car on Joseph Street, no word is said to me and they drive off.  I had to quickly flag down a taxi who then tells me that it is likely they are towing my car to their makeshift “office” at Onikan Swimming Pool.  I call my husband at this point and he meets me at the “office.”

This is where the true nightmare starts.  A man by the name of Abayomi Adetoro, hands me a Notification of Offence for N20,000 to be paid to “The Office of the Special Adviser on Central Business District” with a handwritten account #003503010000259, and a teller for N10,000 to be paid to City-Wide Eko Enterprises.  The Notification of Offence had no offence written on it, just the amount.  I asked Abayomi Adetoro what the offence was and he said he couldn’t tell me, “I should just go and pay”.  The back of the Notification shows that the highest fee was for “Towing of a Trailer or tanker” and/or “Driving in a direction prohibited by Road Traffic Law”.  I was neither driving a tanker, nor driving in a direction prohibited by law so I have no idea where the fee came from and no official wanted to tell me even though I asked severally for what offence it was I committed.  Furthermore, who is City-Wide Eko Enterprises?  No one at the makeshift Onikan Swimming Pool office was inclined to answer ANY of my questions.  Abayomi Adetoro even said “Mutiu just pushed me a little bit and so that was of no concern to them.”  How can a state official assault a married woman in her car and his superiors respond to me that “it was just a small push”.  The man was already in my car and we were already driving to his office, WHY HAS THIS MAN ASSAULTED ME?
I asked to speak to the manager at the makeshift office and I kept being passed back and forth to several men who upon speaking to them would tell me “Sorry I work with the fire service” or “Sorry I don’t work for CBD”.   There was no derogatory word or insult that was not thrown at me in the process.  I was yelled at, ignored, shoved aside, laughed at.  After finally reaching who was supposed to be the H.O.D, my lawyer being present at this time asked for his name, he refused to give it.  He reiterated that his “boy” was doing his job and that this is Lagos not London, and he was going to teach me a lesson.  Is this the mandate of CBD agents?  Am I to be assaulted and harassed for refusing to bribe agents and to follow the law and procedure?  Is there no recourse to appeal fines and levies?  That being that, I asked if Mutiu Balogun was doing his job as he assaulted me and this man said again, “he just pushed me”.  Are CBD Agents mandated to assault drivers in the course of fining for an infraction?

While this was going on, my husband had gone on to in fact pay the N30,000 naira total, complete with a Lagos State Government receipt.  The said H.O.D who we later found out was called a Mr. Masorun, refused to order the release of my vehicle.  The minute I mentioned that I was heading to Area A police station to report the assault of his officer, he runs and jumps into his van and drives off.  My car spends all of Thursday, all of Friday at CBD Swimming Pool.  I paid the fine on Thursday at 2pm, WHY DID MY CAR SPEND TWO DAYS AT CBD?  On Friday, they refused to release my car still and said that myself and my lawyer have to come and apologize to them and that I have to hand over all the notes I was taking during the whole incident so they can use it “to wipe their asses”.

This is INJUSTICE of the highest proportion. What is Lagos turning into??? Uncle Fash should call this agents to order.

Iyabo and Lizzy's fight gets messier.

The star actresses have been battling each other for a while now, and all efforts to broker peace between them by their colleagues have proved abortive. The actresses don't see eye to eye and have always threatened to deal with each other whenever their paths cross.

But it seems the feud is taking a new and more dangerous dimension, after the actresses granted interviews to Hinolly calling each other names on national TV. An Encomium reporter contacted Lizzy and Iyabo...what they each said when you continue...

Lizzy Anjorin: "Iyabo Ojo should be ashamed of herself. If she doesn't stop insulting me I will deal with her. I know she's not the only one, but I will make her a scapegoat. If she doesn't refrain from such rubbish she's saying about me, I will make sure she's chased out of Lagos. She said I opened a paraga shop in Abule Egba, she should tell the public where she opened her own shop. I am better than Iyabo Ojo ten thousand times. She is telling people that I am the one begging for her friendship, who is she? She claims she's older than me, that I should accord her due respect. I respect everybody and I think respect should beget respect. Before I knew it, she started portraying herself as my superior in the industry. She was the one who first insulted me on Hinolly, then when I retaliated in a bigger way, she became uncomfortable. I will deal with her squarely.

When Iyabo Ojo was asked to speak on the matter, she refused to comment, saying she had no time for rubbish.

IBB Fires OBJ Again!

I WILL NOT ENGAGE IN A MEDIA BATTLE WITH OBASANJO- IBB

By Omowaleola Oladitan, Lagos

General Ibrahim Babangida has replied Cheif Olusegun Obasanjo on the comment made by him that Babangida “is a fool at 70” reacting to the  statement that his eight years administration lacked creativity and innovation.

Obasanjo earlier said comments about him made by former President Ibrahim Babangida were not well thought out that he (IBB) should be pitied and shown sympathy rather than anger or condemnation as he was being foolish at the age of 70.

In a press release issued today by Babangida,s media spokes man  Kassim Afegbua, IBB  expresses that  Obasanjo regime was a flop, that with the huge resources that accrued to the his government, Nigeria should have improved better.

He said “When he (Obasanjo) pleaded with IBB to be given another chance to extend his tenure, IBB was not a fool then. When he was released from prison and granted state pardon, bathed in cerebral ornaments and clothed in royal beads and later crowned as President of Nigeria, IBB was not a fool then”.

He also explained that the histories of both of them when compared, IBB is far glowing and instructively stands poles apart from Obasanjo and also in terms of decency, finesse, class, distinction and general conduct.

Babangidas media aid also said his boss wishes to refer Obasanjo to the National Assembly to tell the world how he managed Nigeria’s resources during his regime.

“Chief Obasanjo should ponder on these incontrovertible facts: The revenues that accrued to former President Obasanjo during his eight years are more than those that accrued to the nation from independence till 1999 before he took over”.

“The number of high profile deaths by assassinations and politically motivated killings during Obasanjo’s eight years is more than any other in the history of this country. Besides, is it not curious that after Obasanjo’s exit, there has not been any reported case of plane crashes”.

Video On Prostitution In Edo State & Baby Market In Abia State

This video documentary explores the subject of poverty, prostitution and human trafficking in Edo state. In uncovers some shocking revelations on corruption (Something that is never shown in Nigeria) in Nigeria and unavailability of basic social amenities such as good roads or even education to the poor.

The documentary explores the baby selling industry in Abia state in short this is a clip that will make you weep as a Nigeria. Seeing countries like China and Japan growing to become world powers, I was hoping that our government will be learning from such trend setters and also from the mistakes of our past leaders (Obasanjo, Babangida and Buhari), but that is not the case. Political posts has since become a ticket to siphoning the country's funds into personal accounts.

Watch the clip, it is 25 mins long. Enjoy

The government should do something.

World's Sexiest Accents. Nigeria Ranked No.5

The Nigerian accent has been ranked number 5 in the world by CNNGO.
According to CNNGO:
Famous tongues: King Sunny Adé, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
Dignified, with just a hint of willful naiveté, the deep, rich “oh’s” and “eh’s” of Naija bend the English language without breaking it, arousing tremors in places other languages can’t reach. Kinda makes the occasional phone scam worth the swindle.

But why did they have to spoil the whole praise by adding the "scam" part???
I guess they are beefing our accent.LOL

Obasanjo replies IBB!

Baba Iyabo has finally replied IBB's comments by saying former President Babangida should be pitied and shown sympathy rather than anger or condemnation as he was being foolish at the age of 70.

No contact Yet With My Husband’s Kidnappers – Mikel’s Mother

The mother of Chelsea midfielder, J ohn Mikel Obi, Mrs. Rose Obi, whose husband was kidnapped last Friday, yesterday denied reports that his kidnappers have established contact with the family.

Mrs. Obi who spoke to LEADERSHIP last night on phone said that it was only the car, a Mercedes Benz, that was recovered somewhere around Kwall Falls, in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

She said that, “we have not been contacted and as such we don’t know his present location.

She further stressed that, “as I told you, we have only recovered the car through the assistance of somebody who saw it and reported to us.”

According to her, they are still expecting a call from the kidnappers and added that there was non yet as at the time of the interview.

Apparently corroborating Mrs Obi, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, DipoAyeni, said that he was not aware that the kidnappers had contacted the family.
He also confirmed the recovery of the car and added that they were making frantic efforts to get to the root of the matter.

“ We are deploying all our intelligence network and we are working round the clock to ensure that he was rescued,” the Commissioner said.
Older John Obi was declared missing six days ago in the Tin City of Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Our correspondent who visited his inter-state transport company located at Angwansoya called “God’s will is the best”, one of the managers named Maxwell told our reporter that since the disappearance of the old Man last Friday, he has not been found and there is no information to his family as to his where about .

He said that after the disappearance of the old man, his cell lines were going through unpicked, but were later switched off till date.

Meanwhile, Barkin Ladi local government Area council in Plateau state has denied the speculated discovery of a mass grave in Heipang.
The speculation became rife after the violent crisis that broke out in parts of the council on Sunday.

A competent source told LEADERSHIP that the mass grave issue was allegedly raised by some members of the Special Task Force, STF, but a visit to the area revealed that there was no such grave even as the council confirmed that two corpses of unidentified persons were recovered.

Journalists who visited the trouble spots around Barkin Ladi discovered to their disappointment that no such grave was found, even as no official comment has been made by the STF hierarchy or the state police command on the matter.

It was gathered that one of the corpses was that of someone alleged to have been shot by people suspected to be soldiers when he failed to stop when asked to do so, while the other was deposited at a government hospital in the area.
Chairman of the council, Mr. Emmanuel Lomang who spoke with newsmen denied allegations by the STF that vigilante groups in the area challenged their men which further heat up the situation in the area.
He disclosed that four identity cards belonging to members of the STF were found at the scene of the incident, while others were equally picked by the road side by youths in the area.
In the meantime, member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom federal constituency, Hon. Simon Mwadkom has called for an overhaul of the entire security apparatus in the troubled areas across the country.

He said that during a visit to the affected areas, his discovery was quite devastating, and advised the youths to remain calm as he was sure everything was being done by the federal and state governments` to bring the situation under control.

Chinese company to construct road in Osun State.

CHINESE FIRM TO CONSTRUCT ROAD IN OSUN
Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has met with a team from Chinese Construction Firm, Hongye Construction Group to perfect talks on road construction in the state.
Governor Aregbasola, who had hinted recently that his administration will reconstruct Osun roads after the rains subside, re-echoed this resolve, when he received in his office the Management team of Hongye Construction Group.
Hongye Construction Group has been given the task to open up and construct some selected roads in Osun State.
The projects include Igbajo-Iresi road in Boluwaduro Local Government, Ajegunle-Orileowu-Gbongan-Apomu-Ikire road in Ayedaade local government, and the road linking Iloko-Ijesa – Ijebu-Jesa in Oriade Local Government, which also serves as a link to Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti State.
Aregbesola said the job given to the company would test its technical and financial capacity to partner the state government in the construction of durable roads across the state.
The governor noted that what would define the relationship between the state and the firm would be the flexibility in funding, as his administration would not adopt the customary routine government-contractor relationship.
In a statement to the Chinese firm, he said, “We will be paying on account as you are able to deliver to enable us meet other commitments. On these roads, let us work out how you will mobilise and start your efforts at telling the world that you are a reliable, proficient and award-winning construction company. The only thing is that we have to agree on the flexibility of funding because it won’t be payment on the usual term.”
He recalled that during his recent trip to China, the Chairman of the company gave his assurances to do all within his power to make sure that nothing prevents the beneficial relationship between the state and the Chinese companies.
He also noted that the visit of the company management team to Osun State was a reflection of the high premium and seriousness attached to their engagement.
He expressed hope that the construction company would showcase its capacity to construct roads that would be reference point and a model of excellence in line with the dream by his administration.
The Managing Director of Hongye Construction Group, Mr. Yang Hansheng promised that the company will construct quality roads at minimal cost in Osun, stressing that the partnership with the state government would also assist in providing more job opportunities for citizens in the state.

Tough Dad: Man Shoots His Son For Using His Car Without Permission

The police in Lagos have arrested a businessman, Obed Igwe, who allegedly shot his son, Herod, during an argument that ensued when Herod’s younger brother used their dad’s car without his consent.
P.M.NEWS learnt that Herod’s younger brother, Ebuka, 18, was the culprit.

Igwe was so angry that he sent Ebuka out of their 5, Iya Abiye Street, Satellite Town, Lagos residence.

When Herod returned home from school at the weekend and learnt that his father had driven away his younger brother for using his car, he started pleading on behalf of his brother.

Igwe, who was still very angry, allegedly loaded his double barrel gun and shot Herod, 22, a 200 level student of Law at the American University, Cotonou, Benin Republic. He was shot in the arm and leg.

The police at Agboju Division, Satellite Town, Lagos, later arrested and interrogated Igwe.

He was charged to Apapa magistrates’ court with attempt to kill Herod and unlawful possession of firearm.

Herod is now receiving treatment because of the injury he sustained during the shooting.

Herod told P. M. NEWS that he is an undergraduate of law, American University, Benin republic. He said that it was his mom that called him and informed him that their dad had thrown Ebuka out of their house for driving his car.

He said that he quickly returned from school to settle the matter.

He told P. M. NEWS that while he was persuading his dad to drop the gun, he opened fire on him.

He said when his mom heard the sound of the gun, she thought that her husband had killed him and ran to the police station to report the case.

The police arrested Igwe and claimed he possessed the gun unlawfully, a charge Igwe denied.

Igwe told P M NEWS that he had a licence for his gun and that he did not shoot his son. He said that what happened was an accidental discharge.

However, while he was about to be arraigned in court yesterday, a team of police officers from Agboju Station led by a woman Divisional Criminal Officer, stormed the court and withdrew the charge and took him back to the station.

P. M. NEWS gathered from the station that the state Commissioner of Police, Yakubu Alkali, had ordered that the matter should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for further investigation.

Ghanian "wack" musicians diss Nigerians in Song.

Thank God you are not a Nigerians? You have to learn how to write good grammar first...áwón odé...lol

Check out the lyrics of the song after the cut...

Lyrics...
Kofi is a common name, that’s what even I say
But a Ghana man will never call a child Friday
Thank God we’re not Nigerians
Always shouting very loud, don’t know how to whisper
And why say Mistor, instead of Mister
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
You like school more than any African I’ve seen
Simple thirteen, you still say tharteen
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
They ban the whole team, you can’t even play
Can’t you just say Hi, what is Ki lon sele
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
You barely qualify, then get stuck
President Goodluck but you still suck
Thank God we’re not Nigerians
Instead of Hamburger or Pizza with ham
You eat Egusi with pounded yam
Thank God we’re not Nigerians
Always trying to show off, even when you eat
One soup, no vegetable but twelve different meat
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
Fela was a great Musician, yes of course
(Inaudible) something drugs
Thank God we’re not Nigerians
You created Nollywood, yes more of it
But too many witches and wizards in your film
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
Always in traditional wear everywhere
Haven’t you hear of Armani wear
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
For example shining five piece agbada
You can look very good in Dolce and Gabbana
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
Not going anywhere fast, let’s just stroll
Traffic everywhere, many bad bad roads
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
No street light from Oregun to Ikeja
Four four, join join two two on okada
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
Extra page in your passport to pass and go
You have learn very well from Obasanjo
Thank God we’re not Nigerians
Email fraud, Pyramid, 419
Oh that’s not fine
Thank God we’re not a Nigerians
But at least you are better than Liberians
